Linkedin just published it’s list of most in-demand of soft and hard skills for 2019.
Here they are:
- Creativity
- Persuasion
- Collaboration
- Adaptability
- Time management
They are all great skills to have, but creativity is extra special. It’s like a king skill.
If you develop your creativity and put it to use, it will help you develop and use all the other skills.
Here are a few questions to consider to help make creativity more important in your life:
Are you making time where creativity can be your focus?
This could be brainstorming sessions and idea generation, and it can also include making time for breaks so your brain has time to process and roam freely. Or you simply think and visualize being creative and appreciating other’s creativity.
Are you using language that builds your confidence in your creativity?
Make sure you start describing yourself as a creative person. If you don’t feel very creative, then start telling yourself, I am growing more creative every day. Or use a mantra like, I am learning to use my own unique expression in new ways every day.
Do you find ways to express your creativity daily?
This is all about doing. Use your body in some fashion to express yourself. There are many, many ways to do this. It can be doing art or dance or music. It could be taking play time to experiment or doodle. Or try a walk where you look around with curiosity and wonder. It could be a conversation where the emphasis on being fun and silly.
Your creativity is your unique expression, and it is in demand! You can grow it by using these simple principles as often as you can.
