This is soo important. In fact, make a little sign that says this and put it where you can see it every day, and make sure to do it! Every day, feed it something useful!
Nothing will teach you like running your own business. It will force you to learn a whole lot about many things and you will need to develop many new skills. And most important is what you learn about yourself.
Make it part of your plan from the very start. You will need to become a master of your craft, whatever it is. Train yourself, practice, and become great at it.
Read, study, take classes, whatever fits your work and learn it well. As you go, you will find you need to develop your skills in other areas of running a business, so plan on learning those as you go. You don’t need to be a master of marketing at the start, but down the line it will be helpful to learn something about it and copy-writing and sales as well.
Keep this in mind, but don’t let it paralyze you and keep you from pursuing your dream. You can start learning now, before you even start.
